Actress Anne Heche critically injured in Los Angeles crash

According to a representative for the Los Angeles Fire Department, the smash into the house started a “major fire.”

Following a single-vehicle collision on Friday in Los Angeles, actor Anne Heche was critically hurt, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said in two email notifications that the collision with a house in the Mar Vista neighbourhood caused a “major fire” that was extinguished in a little over an hour.
He said that the driver was extricated from the car by LAFD rescuers and sent to a hospital with serious wounds.

Heavy damage was done to the house, but Humphrey said there were no other known casualties. It was reported shortly before 11 a.m.
According to a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department, the reason of the collision is still being investigated.
He acknowledged that it was feasible that the patient might have a blood test as part of the police inquiry. If a person was arrested on a DUI charge before the test, police in California do not require a warrant to take blood.
Officers may make such arrests based on their observations and circumstantial evidence, including the presence of alcohol or narcotics in a car.

Heche rose to fame for her parts in the soap series “Another World” before making appearances in “Donnie Brasco,” “Volcano,” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” movies. She has also been in TV shows like “Men in Trees” and “Chicago P.D.”
Heche said in 2020 that her high-profile, same-sex relationship with comedian and talk-show presenter Ellen DeGeneres in the 1990s was groundbreaking.

In a recorded interview for “Dancing With the Stars” that year, she said that her experience “pushed the needle for equal rights forward” when she fell in love with Ellen DeGeneres.
She said that the more than three-year relationship, which ended in 2000, had a severe toll on her career, resulting in a ten-year absence of significant studio parts.
She then wed Coley Laffoon; the two had a kid before getting divorced. In 2009, she welcomed a second child with “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper. Since then, the pair has split up.
The postwar neighbourhood of Mar Vista is located on a hilltop above the ocean. The city of Santa Monica is bordered by it.
